Cyclist wearing upside down shirt and poo-smelling boxer shorts arrested on disorderly intoxication charge

A cyclist whose shirt was upside down and whose boxers smelled of poo caught the eye and apparently the nose of an Indian River Shores Public Safety Officer.

The officer first spotted Sergey Smirnov, 54, pedalling south in the northbound bicycle lane on State Road A1A in Indian River Shores, a small municipality in Indian River County, Florida, a recently released arrest affidavit states. Smirnov swerved into oncoming traffic, and the officer stopped him.

Smirnov wore just boxer shorts and a button down shirt and smelled of alcohol. The boxers smelled of a defecation situation, and the shirt was upside down with the collar at the waist. The officer told Smirnov he'd be arrested if he was seen riding in the street again.

About an hour later, Smirnov was spotted heading north in State Road A1A's northbound lane. Smirnov, of Portland, Oregon, nearly struck an officer's patrol vehicle before swerving into traffic. Smirnov said he was lost and had been staying at the truck stop. He was arrested on a disorderly intoxication charge.
