Police said the odd chain of events began late on Monday when Leo Brown, 54, of Mulino, apparently crashed a 1994 Nissan Sentra off Highway 213. Investigators said Brown drove the Sentra through some bushes and small trees before getting the car stuck in some mud near his residence.
Police said Brown then walked back home, got in a 2006 Hyundai and returned to the Nissan in order to tow it out of the mud. But as he was heading to the crash site in the Hyundai, police said Brown drove the that car off the road near where the Sentra had also left the pavement. The Hyundai ended up nose-down against a tree with the back end sticking straight up in the air.
When an OSP trooper arrived on scene, he found Brown was only wearing a light jacket, tennis shoes, thermal long underwear and no pants. Brown was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and reckless driving. He may face additional charges, police said.
